Thank you for Subscribing to Business Management Review Weekly Brief
Working in Human Resources means much more than managing processes, selecting talent, or developing skills. It also means having the opportunity” and the responsibility” to create social value, building connections between the company and the local community, between people and opportunities. With this mindset, I initiated a collaborationcollaboration with a center dedicated to supporting single mothers and their children, who face severe family hardship, temporary isolation, housing difficulties, and unemployment. This experience deeply enriched not only me, but also my colleagues and the women welcomed by the center.
A Project of Inclusion and Participation
The initiative unfolded in three key phases:
• A collection of essential goods organized within the company, which saw enthusiastic participation from employees. Food, diapers, and hygiene products were generously donated to the mothers at the center. This simple gesture strengthened the sense of belonging and solidarity within the team.
Offering a job opportunity to someone who has experienced hardship is an act of trust and responsibility that enriches both the company and the individual
• The employment of several women from the center, which marked a concrete step toward autonomy and social reintegration. Offering a job opportunity to someone who has experienced hardship is an act of trust and responsibility that enriches both the company and the individual.
A Transformative Experience for Everyone
This initiative had a dual positive impact: on one hand, it allowed the women at the center to feel valued, welcomed, and supported in their journey of renewal; on the other, it instilled in our employees a sense of pride, motivation, and awareness of the social role each of us can play y”even within the workplace.
Experiences like this show that it is possible to build bridges between different worlds, and that companies can be active agents of social change. As an HR professional, I firmly believe that these initiatives are essential to building a corporate culture that is more human, responsible, and oriented toward the common good.
